The Initiative

What is 1001 TRUTH?

1001 TRUTH is an initiative of the Deutsche Telekom AG. With this initiative, the Deutsche Telekom AG makes a contribution to shaping digitization in our society. The idea for 1001 TRUTH was born in July 2017 during the day of action with the same name at the Deutsche Telekom AG and the Deutsche Telekom Stiftung. The goal was to explain the differences between Internet-based half-truths, alternative facts and false reports, question the reliability of sources and promote the critical use of information from the Internet.

The Platform 1001truth.com

On the digital platform 1001truth.com, we have taken the idea from our day of action and expanded it to include socially relevant topics from the field of digitization, for example Darknet or Opinion Making on the Internet, and transformed it into a teaching and learning program for those who wish to pass this information on to others. Our goal is to encourage discussion and the responsible use of media. The content on our platform can be acquired through self-study and is also suitable for people who work with different learning groups. It is developed using innovative didactic formats and implemented in the form of modules using the latest technologies. The modules are available both in German and English and successively, in Plain German.
